What we do
The interpreters' table is located in the main entrance of the hospital near
the information desk. We work from 8:30 to 2:30 Monday to Friday.

During these hours there is always at least one interpreter for English and another for German. There are additional interpreters for these and other languages according to availability on the day.
We help patients and their family members with administrative procedures (appointments and contracting services for example) and we attend outpatient consultations at the request of the consultants.
If a patient wishes us to help at a consultation, we issue them with our card, which they hand in with their appointment and the consultant will then call us if s/he requires our assistance.
If any member of staff in the hospital requires our assistance in communicating with a patient or family member, either in person or by phone, they call us.
We also visit inpatients on a daily basis to inform them of our availability to help them or their family members communicate with staff whenever they have difficulty in communicating in Spanish.
